fishing, boating, bird watching, shopping, and a diversity of year-round activities.
South Padre Island . . .
South Padre Island offers a wide variety of activities for the Winter visitor.
Miles of beaches provide the opportunity to swim, fish or just relax and enjoy the mild tropical
climate of Winter on the island. For the nature lover, there are
bird sanctuaries, sea turtles, and
lots of dolphins. Osprey Cruises offers the
Sea Life Safari which is educational as well as
entertaining.
Osprey Cruises , as well as others, also provide both deep sea and bay fishing
charters. For the more adventurous visitors, there is horseback riding, atv and jet ski rentals,
parasailing and
Speed Boat cruising.

You are sure to work up an appetite from all of the fun you are having, and you will find that there
is no shortage of great places to eat. One of the most famous in the valley is
Pirates Landing.
Here you will find not just a restaurant, but a destination for fun, including Texas' longest  fishing
pier. Another favorite is
PadreRitaVille. Decorated in Tiki Hut fashion, you can enjoy great food
and "Texas Music Island Style" performed live by
J. Micheal Laferty, one of the many very
talented South Padre Island musicians.

When your day of fun draws to a close and it's time to get some rest, there is no need to look far
for lodging. The Island has thousands of hotel rooms and condos as well as hundreds of RV sites.
Many hotels such as the
La Copa Inn, the La Quinta Inn and the Hilton Garden Inn offer special
Winter Rates.
