WILD’s Film Contest.  Rules: 1. Your film may not be any longer than 30 minutes.  There is no minimum length requirement.  2. Your film
must have a plot.  3.  Your film must include a title and credits.  4. No use of copyrighted material (such as music).  Categories: First
Place, Second Place, Third Place, best Animation, best comedy, best horror, best action, best drama, best poetic film, best
cinematography, best story, best actor, best actress, best director, best screenplay, best technical achievement, best documentary, and
best Valley film.  A committee will determine if your film can be shown in the contest. Bring your film to Tom Fuschetto at the Pecan

Auditorium on April 12th at the Pecan Campus of STC.  

February 2 – movie The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (1976). Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM.  $1 admission.  (Free to all wearing
70’s clothing).  Before their blockbuster collaboration on Grease, John Travolta and director Randal Kleiser boosted their early careers
with this well-acted, sensitively directed television movie. Teenager Tod Lubitch lives in a plastic isolation chamber because he was born
with a nonfunctioning immune system, leaving him vulnerable to even the most common everyday viruses. Also starring astronaut Buzz

February 4 -- Auditions. Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 12-2 PM. Actors, dancers, musicians, and singers of all ages are invited to try
out for either or both of the following productions: Children’s Play Old McDonald Has a Party and Border Wall Woes.  Old McDonald Has
a Party performs Sunday February 12 at Building K of STC, and on April 19, 20, and 21 at the Pecan Campus Auditorium, Building D,
STC.  A 2 PM matinee show will be on Saturday, April 21st (last show). Some are concerned that McDonald is getting old and misses
the days when the animals were around. So, they start planning a surprise party for him.  Border Wall Woes performs March 22-24 and is
a premier of original dramatic schticks at the border fence. Pecan Campus Auditorium, Building D, STC. 7 PM on March 22 and 23rd.  2
PM matinee show on Saturday, March 24th (last show).  Featuring the works of Juan Ochoa and Brenda Rodriguez, scenes of the border
are played out: Ochoa’s “Anchor Baby” and Rodriguez’s adaptation of “The Lady or The Tiger” and Tom Fuschetto’s “Border Wall Fall.”

February 9 – movie The Chase (1946). Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM.  $1 admission (Free to all dressed in fedoras and
trench coats). A man is dragged into a violent underworld when he returns a lost wallet and discovers that the owner is a crime lord. The
twists and turns create a staggering and artful finale to this Film Noir thriller. Released to critical acclaim and long renowned as a cult
classic, The Chase features some of cinema's finest talents. Superior performances from Hitchcock-regulars Robert Cummings and

February 16 – movie My Favorite Brunette (1947). Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM.  $1 admission.  A satire of film noir, Bob
Hope, Dorothy Lamour, Peter Lorre, and Lon Chaney star in this wild and wacky action-packed spoof of detective movies. Hope plays a
baby photographer who lives out his fantasy of being a modern-day Sherlock Holmes, and steps into the gumshoes of office mate Sam
McCloud (film noir veteran Alan Ladd), a private investigator who runs his own detective agency. Making all the wrong moves, he gets
involved with an international gang dealing in uranium. The brunette baffles him, the gang slugs him, his automobile goes haywire, and

February 23 --  WILD’s February Poetry Reading --  7:00 PM to 9 PM. Student Lounge, Building H, Pecan Campus, South Texas
College.  FREE.   Open-microphone poetry, stand-up comedy, and more features in an environment of art.  Something is here for the
senses: art for the eyes, poetry for the ears, and rhythms for the unsettled nerves.  For years, this festival has attracted a variety of various

March 1 – Movie – The Little Princess (1939).  Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM. $1 admission (Free to all dressed like
princesses and princes).  Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's popular children's book and stage play, THE LITTLE PRINCESS
features Shirley Temple in her first Technicolor appearance. Temple stars as a little rich girl who is enrolled in a prestigious boarding
school while her father goes off to fight in the Boer War. When she receives news of her father's death, the school's ruthless
headmistress makes the newly penniless girl a galley slave and forces her to live in a cold, dark garret. Starring Cesar Romero and

March 8 –  Heidi (1968). Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM.  $1 admission.  (free to all who dress in German, Swiss, or Austrian
clothing). This Spyri's famous children's classic retells the story of orphaned Heidi and her dramatic quest for love and family. After the
death of her parents, Heidi is whisked off to the Swiss mountain home of a wealthy uncle to care for his crippled daughter. Starring

March 22-24 LIVE DRAMA–  Border Wall Woes.  A premier of original dramatic schticks at the border fence. Pecan Campus

April 12 – WILD Film Contest. Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM. FREE.  See original films in a film contest running for 17 years:
dramas, comedies, tragedies, romances, satires, parodies, and experimental cinema.  The winners will be decided 50% by a jury of film
personalities and 50% from audience-participation ballots.  Awards will be provided by South Texas College Book Store/ Barnes &

April 26 –  Movie Steamboat Bill Jr.  (1928). Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM.  $1 admission. (Free to all wearing a Buster
Keaton hat).  Buster Keaton, in his last independent film, plays the effete son of riverboat captain "Steamboat Bill" coming to see his dad
after years of separation. Bill tries to turn his son into a man. When his father is arrested, Willie decides to get him out of jail.
STEAMBOAT BILL Jr. is critically acclaimed and hailed as one of Keaton's masterpieces.  All people are invited. For more information,

May 3 – WILD Film Awards Show. Pecan Campus Auditorium, STC. 7 PM. FREE. The WILD Awards Ceremony .  7:00 PM. Auditorium,
