The Amigos de los Niños plan their 24th annual Fiesta.

Amigos de los Niños de Mexico is a volunteer group of nearly 300 Winter Texans. Every Christmas Day since 1990, it has provided a joy-filled holiday fiesta for Mexican children. For the 24th consecutive year, it will be held in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico on Christmas morning at 10:00AM. The Amigos meet each November and begin to plan the annual event. Nearly 3000 children arrive from many different pueblos and colonias in Northern Tamaulipas.

Following a parade from the International Bridge to Ford School #45, the children enjoy a visit with Santa Claus, and receive gifts of Toys, Piñatas, fruits, school supplies, pastries and candies. In addition, every child brings home an ‘encomienda’ (small bag of groceries) for their family.

All winter Texans who would like to be part of this exciting event, in our 24rd consecutive year, are cordially invited to the first planning meeting of 2013.

This meeting is scheduled for: 1:30 PM on November 12, 2013
First United Methodist Church
228 South Main Street, Donna, Texas.
